Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) testing is on the horizon in April. At the Duquesne City School District, PSSA testing will be held from April 22-26, as well as on April 29 and 30 (check the school calender for further details).

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, "The annual Pennsylvania System School Assessment is a standards-based, criterion-referenced assessment which provides students, parents, educators and citizens with an understanding of student and school performance related to the attainment of proficiency of the academic standards." Every Pennsylvania student in grades 3 through 8 is assessed in English Language Arts and Math. Additionally, every Pennsylvania student in grades 4 and 8 is assessed in science.

In advance of PSSA's, we'd like to share two pertinent documents. First, please see this document, which lays out some frequently asked questions about PSSA's. Additionally, check out this document, which includes some details regarding the use of electronic devices during testing.
