• Creation Station

  • The Creation Station is a makerspace for students in grades PreK-2nd. This space was a repurposed meeting room and was made possible through a 2015-2016 AIU STEAM Grant. Classroom teachers utilize this space to extend scientific content and making principles with students as young as four years of age. The large open space allows for small groups of collaboration to take place where students explore, observe and construct. During this current school year, students in first grade in the Creation Station have been using Bee Bots to gain knowledge and experience with computational thinking. Students in second grade have been asked to partner with Avonworth School District and their #bethekindkid movement. During their time in the Creation Station, students have been brainstorming ideas on projects to make and eventually sell to earn a profit to donate to an organization of their choice.
