Certified English as a Second Language Classroom Teacher
Job Description Summary
The English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher(s) specialize in instructing K – 8 students whose primary language is not English. The ESL teacher(s) will assist students, of all English speaking levels, to learn the formal grammar, vocabulary, literacy and pronunciation of spoken and written English, in order to communicate clearly with confidence and fluency.
Job Requirements Summary
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Current PA K - 12 ESL Program Specialist certification required.
- Current Act 33/34, Act 114, and Act 151 Clearances required.
- Experience instructing students in English Language Learning and supporting student development.
Reporting
Reports directly to the Building Principal or designee.
Terms of Employment
Salary, work schedule, evaluation and other conditions of employment are in accordance with the current Duquesne City School District Duquesne Education Association Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.

Cafeteria / Recess Monitor (part-time)
Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Building Principal and in collaboration with staff members, the Cafeteria / Recess Monitor will surveil student behaviors by circulating and interacting with students during lunch services and recess.
Job Requirements Summary
- High School Diploma / Equivalent required.
- Current child abuse (Act 33/34), state (Act 34) and federal clearances (Act 114) required.
- Experience monitoring and managing student aged children and age-appropriate activities required.
Reporting
Reports directly to the Building Principal or designee.
Terms of Employment
- Part-time.
- Monday thru Friday; 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- $15.00 per hour.
- There are no other benefits with this position

Substitute Custodian(s)
Requirements Include:
• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• Experience with facilities cleaning preferred.

Day to Day Substitute Teachers: K - 8
Join our dedicated team of Educational Professionals! Individuals hired for this position will be compensated at a daily rate of $150.00. Requirements include current Pennsylvania K - 8 minimum certification and clearances (Act 33 / 34, Act 114, and Act 151) dated within the last 12 months. According to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education School Services Unit, ALL APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT with public and private schools, including student teachers and independent contractors and their employees, must undergo background checks. Act 33 / 34 (Pennsylvania Child Abuse - State Criminal History), Act 151 (Pennsylvania Child Abuse History) and Act 114 (FBI) must be renewed every five years.
ALL CLEARANCES SHALL BE NO MORE THAN ONE YEAR OLD AT THE TIME OF EMPLOYMENT
