On January 14, the district was visited by a representative from Verizon Innovative Learning (VILS), Verizon’s award-winning education initiative which addresses barriers to digital inclusion. In partnership with Digital Promise, the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program works side-by-side with schools and districts to provide free technology devices, access to the internet, and innovative STEM learning programs.

The district began its partnership with VILS in 2024. As part of the program, VILS provides 4G LTE capable tablets for 5th-8th grade students. Additionally, the program has fostered a partnership to integrate more technology-based instruction in classrooms, spearheaded by Michelle Stowell, the district's Verizon Innovative Learning School Instructional Coach. Furthermore, IT director Chuck Robinson has spearheaded a student technology team through VILS, giving students job-like training in an IT role.
