As part of our Black History Month programming, we are excited to invite students to participate in our “Then. Now. Next.” Black History Month Art Contest, inspired by this year’s national theme: A Century of Black History Commemorations.

Entries are due Wednesday, February 18 and winners will be announced at the Black History Month Celebration on Tuesday, February 24 at 6:00 P.M.

This art contest asks students to explore Black history and culture through three lenses:

Then — honoring Black history and legacy

Now — celebrating Black life, culture, and joy today

Next — imagining hopes, dreams, and possibilities for the future

Students may use any artistic medium (drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, etc.) and are encouraged to connect their work to black history, culture, STEM, community, identity or creativity.

Each winner will receive a gift card from PACS.

All entries must include:

Title of the artwork

The theme(s) it represents (Then, Now, and/or Next)
