On April 22, the Duquesne City School District held a banquet and awards ceremony to celebrate its student athletes. Teams honored include football, boys and girls basketball, volleyball, and cheerleading.

"I'm proud of you all," said athletic director DiAngelo Mitchell. "Thank you to the coaches, as well. I appreciate you all for everything you do to hold the kids accountable."

Further, coaches voted on and announced award winners. Award winners include as follows:

Football MVP: Elijah Maloy

8th Grade Basketball MVP: Christian Blair  

7th Grade Basketball MVP: Terrance Whittle  

8th Grade Girls Basketball MVP: Catalina Gardner  

7th grade Girls Basketball MVP: Bella Huff  

Cheerleading MVP: Shyla Marshall  

Volleyball MVP: Raihana Khawas
